Leaders Who Last: Real Conversations About Leadership & Burnout

Leadership in 2025 isn’t what it used to be. The old rules—grind harder, push through, sacrifice yourself for the job—aren’t just outdated. They’re unsustainable.

That’s why I created Leaders Who Last—a live LinkedIn series where I sit down with some of the most thoughtful, experienced, and innovative leaders I know to talk about the realities of burnout, resilience, and what it actually takes to build a career (and a workplace) that lasts.

Why This Series?

I’ve spent years working with organizations on burnout prevention, inclusive leadership, and culture transformation. And here’s what I’ve learned: Burnout isn’t just about working too much. It’s about feeling undervalued, unsupported, or trapped in systems that make it impossible to succeed without sacrificing yourself.

And yet, most leadership advice still boils down to "set better boundaries" or "take time off," as if those things alone can fix a broken system.

Leaders Who Last is about real solutions—straight from people who have been in the thick of it, who have seen the challenges firsthand, and who are leading differently because of it. We’re having conversations about how to lead sustainably, protect our teams, and build workplaces that don’t push people to the edge.

What to Expect

Each session is a live, unscripted conversation with a different leader, focused on:

✔️ The unique burnout challenges leaders are facing right now
✔️ What they’re doing to protect their well-being (without checking out of leadership)
✔️ The systems and cultural shifts that need to happen for real change
✔️ Practical, no-BS insights leaders can take back to their teams

This isn’t about toxic positivity or quick fixes. It’s about staying in the game without burning out—because leadership shouldn’t have to come at the cost of your health.

Meet the Leaders

This series features real leaders—not just thought leaders, but people actively shaping workplaces, navigating change, and figuring out what sustainable leadership actually looks like.

We’ve already had some incredible conversations, and more are on the way. You can find a full list of past Leaders Who Last sessions below—click through to read recaps, watch replays, and dive deeper into each topic:

Leaders Who Last: Themba Dayton → I kicked off the series with Themba Dayton, someone I’ve admired since we met at DisruptHR Seattle. We talked about why burnout isn’t just about workload—it’s about feeling like your work isn’t valued and how leaders can create cultures where employees feel seen and supported.

Leaders Who Last: TJ Lowery → (Blog Coming Soon) TJ Lowery is a powerhouse when it comes to building equitable workplaces and addressing the systemic causes of burnout. We explored how leaders can move beyond surface-level DEI efforts and actually create cultures where people thrive.

Leaders Who Last: Laurice Walker → (Blog Coming Soon) Change is one of the biggest contributors to burnout, and Laurice Walker knows how to navigate it. As an organizational psychologist and DEI strategist, she’s spent years helping leaders manage change without losing themselves—or their teams—in the process.

Keep an eye out for new sessions as they’re scheduled. We’ll share details on Linkedin as they become available!

Join us live, bring your questions, or just listen in. Because leadership shouldn’t have to cost you your well-being.
